Tours can be more rugged or sedate, depending on your needs. You can traverse wild trails or take in the historic Corolla Village tour. But all are refreshing and simply beautiful. Back Country Outfitters was the first eco-tour in the area. They offer several tours ranging from a 2-hour wild horse safari, a 3-hour kayak expedition to 2 different Segway Tours.
Ride in large, open-air vehicles or air-conditioned ones. You can take up to ten people in one model, and the open air allows you to actually stand up and take pictures from the vehicle. You will view wild horses and osprey, indigenous flora, back country, beaches, marsh and maritime forest. They offer tours year round weather permitting. Tour times vary depending on which one you choose. They answer their phones year round.
